The right to privacy is protected under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. Article 21 guarantees the fundamental right to life and personal liberty. Over the years, the Supreme Court of India has interpreted the right to privacy as an inherent part of the right to life and personal liberty under Article 21. In the landmark judgment of Puttaswamy v. Union of India in 2017, the Supreme Court held that the right to privacy is a fundamental right protected under Article 21.
