It was during the reign of Iltutmish, the third Sultan of Delhi Sultanate, that Chengiz Khan, the Mongol ruler, reached the Indus River while pursuing the fugitive Khwarezm prince. This event occurred in the early 13th century.

In 1398, Timur invaded India, aiming to destroy Hindu kings and rulers. Sultan Nasir-ud-din Mahmud Tughluq of the Tughlaq dynasty was unable to resist Timur's forces and was easily defeated. Timur's invasion had significant consequences, including widespread destruction and disruption of the political order in the region.

Vasco da Gama's arrival on the coast of Kerala happened much later, in 1498, during the reign of Tuluvas, not Deva Raya II.
